4 KWW Attorneys Earn Ohio Super Lawyers Distinction

Kastner Westman & Wilkins, LLC attorneys James P. Wilkins, Jaime U. Kolligian, Julie A. Trout and Michael J. Spisak were named among the 2017 Ohio Super Lawyers, an attorney rating service designation based on peer recognition and professional achievement.

Wilkins, a Shareholder, and Spisak, Of Counsel, are repeat honorees in the Employment and Labor and Workers’ Compensation practice areas, respectively. Kolligian, a Shareholder, and Trout, an Associate, were recognized as Rising Stars.

Super Lawyers analyzes lawyers from more than 70 practice areas through independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with third-party research, and each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selections are made on an annual, state-by-state basis.

Wilkins is an Ohio State Bar Association-certified specialist in labor and employment law with a degree from the National Law Center, George Washington University. He represents and counsels employers on union relations matters, including collective bargaining negotiations and arbitration proceedings, and advises clients on compliance with the full range of labor and employment laws.
Kolligian, who has spent her entire legal career at KWW, received her law degree from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, Cleveland State University. She regularly advises private and public sector employers on workplace law and employee relations matters, including leave management issues concerning ADA and FMLA compliance.
Spisak has practiced workers’ compensation and employment law for over 20 years. Throughout that time, he has defended employers at over 10,000 workers’ compensation hearings, successfully arguing cases at every Industrial Commission office in Ohio. He received his law degree from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, Cleveland State University.
Trout represents employers in state and federal courts, and before the EEOC and state fair employment practice agencies when discrimination claims arise. She graduated from the University of Akron School of Law.
