 
John received his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and
his law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. John
joined Kastner Westman & Wilkins LLC as a partner in April 2001 after
practicing for several years at a large Akron based law firm where he
was a shareholder. His practice has focused exclusively on labor
and employment matters.
John represents management in employment/discrimination-related
litigation before state and federal courts and government administrative
agencies, in traditional labor law matters/grievance arbitrations, as
well as in employment contract and non-competition matters. John
devotes significant time to counseling employers on FLSA/wage hour
matters, the ADA, FMLA, and employee handbook issues. His clients
hail from both the private and public sectors.Prior to attending law school, John held the positions of Senior
Operations Analyst and Personnel Officer with First Union National Bank
(now Wachovia)
in Charlotte, North Carolina. There he was responsible for the
recruitment of professional personnel and management of employee relations issues for
six bank divisions.
John is admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States, the Supreme Court of Ohio, the U.S. Court of Appeals
for the Sixth Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern
District of Ohio. John is a member of the American Bar Association,
Federal Bar Association, Ohio
State Bar Association and Akron Bar Association, and is past chairman of
the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Akron Bar Association.
