Steve is an Akron native who has spent the majority of his career representing employers in workplace matters throughout Northeast Ohio. Steve decided early on to follow the footsteps of his father into practicing law, and his desire to become a labor and employment attorney was shaped by his experience working as a union member during his summers in college.
Steve’s practice is centered on working with management to find pragmatic solutions that help them achieve the employer’s business goals. As a litigator, Steve has defended employers in numerous cases involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblowing, and violations of leave and wage and hour laws. He has also prosecuted and defended many cases involving breach of non-competition/non-solicitation agreements and misappropriation of trade secrets and other business information. In addition, Steve has significant experience in representing employers in traditional labor matters, both at the NLRB and in arbitration.
Steve also regularly counsels employers on day-to-day issues such as workplace investigations, disability/leave management, collective bargaining, and wage and hour compliance. He particularly enjoys working with clients on developing best practices and policies to help them avoid future problems.
